Strategic Alliance

A Strategic Alliance of diverse leaders from the six states has been formed to promote the project publicly through media appearances, meetings with the New England Congressional Delegation and Governors, and participation in agenda-setting discussions.

Paul Choquette

Paul Choquette is the Co-Chair of the RI Economic Policy Council and Chairman of Gilbane, Inc., Rhode Island’s largest family-owned business and a top 10 national construction company. He also serves as Chairman of Gilbane Development Company, a real estate development sister company of Gilbane, Inc.


Ed Colodny

Ed Colodny was the long-time president and CEO of US Airways. Since retiring, he has served as interim presidents of both the University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Hospital. He currently serves on the boards of several well-known Vermont institutions including New England Culinary Institute, the Vermont Mozart Festival and Vermont Law School.


Hon. Michael Dukakis

Michael Dukakis served three terms as governor of Massachusetts from 1975-1978 and 1982-1991. Dukakis was on the board of Amtrak for five years. He currently teaches at Northeastern University in Boston, where he is a Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the College of Arts and Sciences.


Dr. Wendy Everett

Dr. Everett was appointed as the first President of the New England Healthcare Institute (NEHI) in July 2002. With over thirty years of experience in the health care field, Dr. Everett has held executive positions at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF) and at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Lewis M. Feldstein is President of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. Prior to coming to the Charitable Foundation, Feldstein served as Provost of the Antioch/New England Graduate School. He currently serves on several boards, including the Boards of Directors of the Independent Sector and the National Center for Family Philanthropy.


Jerry Greenfield

Jerry Greenfield Jerry Greenfield

Jerry Greenfield, along with Ben Cohen, founded Ben & Jerry's Homemade, Inc. in 1978. Greenfield and Cohen were winners of the 1993 James Beard Humanitarians of the Year award and were recognized by the Peace Museum as the 1997 Community Peacemakers of the Year. Greenfield is currently a trustee of the Ben & Jerry's Foundation.


Cheryl Harrington

Cheryl Harrington is a Director and co-founder of The Regulatory Assistance Project. Previously, she was a Commissioner on the Maine Public Utilities Commission from 1982 to 1991. Ms. Harrington served in the Maine Attorney General's Office as Division Chief for Consumer and Antitrust Litigation in the seven years prior to serving on the Maine PUC.


Hon. Angus King

Angus King Angus King

Angus King served two terms as governor of Maine from 1995 until 2003. Elected as an Independent in 1994 in his first run for public office, he was re- elected in 1998 by one of the largest margins in Maine history. He was nationally recognized for his program that provides a laptop computer to every seventh and eighth grade student in the state.

Madeleine Kunin served three terms as governor of Vermont from 1985 to 1991. In addition, Kunin served as U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland (1996-99) and deputy U.S. secretary of education (1993-96). Kunin is currently a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Vermont and St. Michael's College.

Bishop Peter A. Rosazza

The Most Reverend Peter A. Rosazza, D.D. is Auxiliary Bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hartford in Connecticut and Vicar for Hispanics. Until November, 2005, he was honorary chairperson of the CenterEdge Project, which sought to educate Connecticut residents about the problem of sprawl, its impact on the environment and the need for access to opportunity for its poorest citizens.

Dr. Pablo Rodriguez is the Associate Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Women & Infants Hospital; Managing Partner of Women's Care Inc.; Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Brown University Program in Medicine; and is Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Rhode Island. Dr. Rodrigues is also the Past Chairman, Board of Directors, The Rhode Island Foundation.

Jeanne Shaheen became New Hampshire's first woman governor in 1996, and went on to serve three terms. Since leaving office at the end of 2002, Shaheen has served as a Senior Fellow at both the Institute of Politics at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard and the College of Citizenship and Public Service at Tufts University.

Mark Snelling serves as president of The Shelburne Corporation, a manufacturer of brass and copper wire products located in Vermont and New York. He is currently on the board of The Snelling Center for Government and is chair of the Vermont Governor’s Council of Environmental Advisors. He also recently chaired the Governor’s Commission on Downtowns and Growth Centers.

Joseph C. Thompson is the founding director of MASS MoCA, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts. MASS MoCA is the largest center for contemporary and performing arts in the country. The museum attracts some 125,000 visitors per year to its diverse program of exhibitions, dance, theater, music and film, and has created some 400 jobs since opening.

Dr. Blenda Wilson is the President of the Nellie Mae Education Foundation in Massachusetts. Dr. Wilson is past chair of the American Association of Higher Education. A nationally known speaker on higher education policy issues, she is also the Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.


Robert Woodbury

Bob Woodbury is the Former Chancellor, University of Maine System and currently serves as Chair, Maine Community Foundation. Woodbury also has a professorial appointment at the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine and speaks, writes, and consults on issues of higher education, health policy, and public affairs.
